There are many ways you can help to preserve Silver Creek. Staying informed is one of the best. Understanding how it works, it’s history and the future needs of maintaining and enhancing the fishery and ecosystem are very important. We have listed below Organizations that we have worked with that have the best interest of Silver Creek in mind and have work closely with Idaho Fish and Game, landowners and the public.
The Nature Conservancy of Idaho The Nature Conservancy has been a big part of Silver Creek for nearly 50 years. With 1000 acres of land they own and 10,000+ acres of land under easements, they are heavily vested in the health of the stream. Their leadership in all aspects of conservation for Silver Creek is paramount to the watershed. Their land is publicly accessed and funding to maintain and preserve it comes from the public. |
Silver Creek Alliance The Silver Creek Alliance is a 501(c)3 organization that was formed to bring together all stakeholders in the watershed to create better awareness and fundraising opportunities for the watershed. They work very closely with the Nature Conservancy, Idaho Fish and Game, stakeholders and the public to preserve the watershed and it’s fishery. |
Ecosystem Sciences Foundation Ecosystem Sciences Foundation has a big role in the watershed when it comes to monitoring the ecosystem system. Through consistent and reliable data collection, Ecosystem Sciences Foundation has been producing Annual Reports on the health and trends of the stream since 2011. They play a vital role in the watershed. Funding for this web presence, stream monitoring and the Annual Reports come from private donations. Ecosystem Sciences is also a 501(c)3. |
